From Daddy's little girl TO Mummy's friend

Most of us LADIES today have been daddy's little girls at some point in our life or the other. Infact I remember my mom very fondly mentioning the fact to almost everyone we met .. I use to wonder .. didnt my mom ever get jealous.. didnt she feel bad. I mean she is the one who is the backbone of our family like most famlies, taking care of our every need .. but she never did . I asked her myself . She smiled and answered "No"
Then some years later during one of our heart to heart chats my dad told me.. "Only a mother can truly understand a daughter.. No matter what you say today.. you will be closer to your mom." At that point I didnt understand what he was saying because I would never talk to my mom about half the stuff I'd talk to dad.

Today I understand the meaning of his words .. My dads a such a smart man.
After being married for four year I relate to my mom  in so many more aspects then I did in the 24 years before that. Being a wife, being part of a new household, adjusting.. the list goes on . Over night your life changes after marriage.

It's such a balancing act. And somewhere in all this you have this desperate need not to lose youself in this world. For the first time I looked at my dad from my moms point of veiw..  since I got a husband of my own to compare.  I was amazed how similar they are..despite the fact that they have totally different personalities. We developed one huge common factor the day got married. Infact even my best friends call up my mom for her advice. She is amazing.. she is like a ocean of knowledge.. whether its about unattentive husbands, housekeeping, laundry, cooking, kids, budgeting.. things I never gave a thought about.. yet somehow i think we all have to deal with  these issues and activities on a day to day bases.
I dont have a kid yet .. but  I am sure when  I do become a mom .. I will have a whole new level of understanding and appreciation for my mother.

Maybe my mom knew that this day would come.. that I would find my way to her and we would become more closer and understand each other ... and become each others friend and support.
But she always still says with a big smile... "She is her daddy's little girl" .I can always be Daddy's girl .. and see my dads beaming smile. But in her smile I see her wisdom .. her understanding.. We have our own little world..

To all you lovely ladies out there looking for a friend to comfort you.. someone to confide in.. someone to support you .. someone to guide you...you need'nt look far ..she has always been by your side very step of the way.
